The major groups of macromolecules are Carbohydrates which consist of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Lipids which are nonpolar hydrocarbons that store energy, these are fats. Protein which are made up of amino acids and is the nutrition of the body. Nucleic acids include DNA and RNA.
