Infectious diseases such as smallpox, polio, mumps, and measles were had once took a fatal toll on the world's population. However, through the creation of vaccination, humans are now able to prevent and control illness and death rates caused by diseases. Immunization effectively combats diseases and keeps populations healthy. One of the most deadly diseases to the human kind is the influenza, or the flu. The flu is considered so deadly because of how easily transmitted it can be. The flu spreads through contaminated air and surfaces, making it extremely easy to contract.
