In the first line of the poem the writer used symbolism and signifies her lover a quintessential fit like a perfect piece of the puzzle. The poem's speaker interacts with profound intimacy and deemed their love eternal as if they were created for each other. Her simile in the poem describes objects "like a hook into an eye" for hook-and-eye closure emphasize the perfect "Fit". This implies a secure connection, just like a hook and eye firmly keeps clothes intact; it is as though they were made for each other.
