You can see that from that statement the author was trying to make the males in the show seem more courageous, that only men could jump off a roof. But in reality all of them ended up getting “injured” and chickening out! That text is a perfect example of men are treating women differently and degrading them in some way. Mr. Boynton was making it seem like just because someone is a different gender that automatically makes them less expected to do things. Although, later in the episode you see that even Miss Brooks ends up not wanting to jump off the roof either. But that still should not define her as not being expected to do the same as what men can do. Because there are women out there that would be glad to jump off a roof or even something higher! It seemed to be a recurring theme throughout the video of all the male teachers kind of laughing at Miss Brooks for being a woman.
