My Country Is Sri Lanka

The name of my country is Sri Lanka. Its capital is Sri Jayewardenepura kotte. The official Languages are Sinhala, English & Tamil. The president is Mahinda Rajapaksha and the Prime Minister is D.M Jayaratne.

Sri Lanka is surrounded by Indian Ocean. The land area of my country measures nearly 2500 square miles and 30 percent of it’s covered by forests. The natural beauty of the country led it to being called “pearl of the Indian ocean”.

The people comprise several races:

Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims, Malays, and Burghers. Sinhala is used by the majority community. There are many religions too practiced by the people in this country. They are Buddhism, ...

Sri Lanka is famous among the European countries because of its natural beauty. Many beautiful waterfalls such as Dunhinda, Lakshapana and Bambarakanda attract Tourists. And other waterfalls are Mahaweli, Diyaluma, kirindi Ella, Aberdeen, Rawanella, Adam’s peak fall , Gartmore fall, Diyan fall, Baker’s fall , Bopath Ella, more and more Etc…,…,..., The total number of waterfalls in sri lanka with a height of over 5-10 meters approached a hundred. Ninety nine of these largest falls range between 109 meters and 263 meters.

They come to see Sri Lanka to see the beauty of these waterfalls and many other picturesque places. There are many spectacular places such as Botanical Garden of Peradeinya And Hakgala Gardens. Most Europeans like the quality tea produced in the country. we export crops are tea, rubber, coconut, sugarcane, cinnamon to various countries. And also Gemstones.
