The book My Sister’s Keeper is about the thin line between life and death. It focused on the life of Kate Fitzgerald who was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia at the young age of 2. She has had relapses and has been in and out of remission for the last sixteen years. Brian and Sara Fitzgerald, Kate’s parents, decided to genetically make a baby (which they named Anna) to be a perfect match to save Kate’s life. Even in the first minutes of Anna’s life she was donating umbilical cord blood to help keep Kate alive.
