Slavery is one of the biggest stains in American history. In many slave narratives, Frederick Douglass’ autobiography proves to be one of the most pure expressions of human emotions. His narration exposes us to the evils of slavery, the inhumanity of bounding another fellow brother in Christ.
In August 1841, WM. Lloyd Garrison, the speaker in the introduction, attended a slavery convention in Nantucket, and met Frederick Douglass, who had just escaped from the “southern prison-house of bondage.” (v) Douglass gave his first speech there.
