The people of have beard burdens that few in the British Empire can understand. I myself did not understand this until David MacFarlane’s novel; The Danger Tree was introduced to me. Keeping in spirit of the biographical nature of the history course, I was influenced by another book called Mrs. King by Charlotte Gray. This novel was a review of the life and times of Isabel Mackenzie King, William Lyon Mackenzie King’s mother. I found this book most interesting because its primary focus was not her legendary son but herself. I was intrigued by the different perception this brought to an already infamous story of one of Canada’s greatest Prime Ministers.
