O.Henry

William Sydney Porter better know as O.Henry is an American short story writer best known for his twist endings. Porter was born September 11, 1862, in Greensboro, North Carolina to Dr.Algernon Sidney Porter and Mary Jane Virginia Swaim Porter. Porter's mother died when he was three after giving birth to her third child. Soon after Porter moved with his father to his grandparents' house. Porter got a high school degree then went on to be a licensed pharmacist at age 19.
Porter Traveled to La Salle County, Texas in 1882 hoping to cure a cough he had developed. In La Salle, he took up a job as a ranch hand. In 1884 ...
