Productivity is on the rise in the welfare systems. Ten years ago, the thought of productivity and welfare used together in a positive manner was obsolete? Today, it is common to hear these two words together in a positive context. The new way of looking at productivity and welfare is contributed to the adoption of the Welfare-to-Work program. This program sets limits and obtainable goals for its recipients, so they can live a more productive life.

The decline in the number of welfare cases show that the Welfare-to-Work program is working. According to the figures made public recently by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Louisiana is one of the most successful states. Since the instatement of the federal welfare law in 1996, Louisiana’s welfare caseload declined by 46 percent. The decline of recipients shows an incline in productivity.
