Quennel Gaskin is a gospel organist/pianist from Long Island, NY. At the tender age of 2 he began playing the drums. He and his father would sit at the piano when he was young and get serenated by various pieces from him. Quennel began playing keys at 13. He’s formally been known as a teacher, producer, composer, arranger, keyboardist, minister, organist, worship leader, and drummer. He spent time in Texas and Alaska living while working with artist such as: Myron Williams, Juanita Bynum, DW Project, Late Reverend Timothy Wright, Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond, Jonathan Nelson, Judith McAllister, Cecil Winans, Kim Burrell, Bishop T.D. Q: Who would of ever thought Quennel Gaskin getting kicked off an instrument? (Laughs) What was your first instrument and at what age?

A: Drums. Started to dibble and dabble on the drums at two years old.

Q: Now, I’ve read a little about your father, the Late Rev. Gaskin, Can you tell me a little about him and how he’s influenced you?

A: Well, from what I remember and what everybody said about him (he passed when I was 8 years old) he was my hero most definitely. He was a person who walked in integrity and love. He loved God and his family. He encouraged me in things of God and to know God.

Q: Do you have any siblings? And did he influence them as well?

A: Yes, I have a sister who plays drums and keys as well now. Also, he influenced my mom, too. She sings and is a preacher ...
