DADA CASE STUDY - RAOUL HAUSMANN

Dada, or Dadaism, was an art movement that was influenced by WW1 during 1916-1923. It sparked a whole new artistic freedom for people as well as a wide array of quirky and powerfully engaging artworks. This greatly affected the visual and literal arts and gave birth to many new artistic theories still used in modern artistic movements.

seen as a way for Dada to express the confusion caused by their worlds being turned over and over. The basis of Dada is plain nonsense and can be hard to comprehend. Many of the veterans from WW1 went forth to paint Dadaist works or become Dadaists. Thus, they naturally became soley attracted to a nihilist view of the world as a whole. They had become so sick of humanity and it's horrific acts on the European battlefields really showed them what man could be capable of if pushed too hard. Their pain and suffering grew greatly from the horrors of war.
