A Reborn Nation by a New Democracy (Mao Tse-Tung)
Mao Tse-tung’s essay, “On New Democracy” focuses on the aim to build a new society and a new state for the Chinese nation. The new society would have a new political system, a new economy, and a new culture. Basically, Tse-tung wants to change China altogether, to shift it into an entire reformed nation. This relates with the communism system of proletarian ideology and a new social system. It is different than any other ideological and social system, and exemplifies many characteristics. It is a progressive, completed revolution that stands as a rational system in human history.
Tse-tung agreed that China is carrying out a revolution in the social system, as well as in technology. More public ownership is currently beginning to replace the traditional Chinese private ownerships. Also, large-scale modern machine productions, rather than manmade handicrafts are making many industrialized products. Because so many old Chinese traditions still exist, no industrial process can override the other (Socialism, 2).
