wasting valuable resources and threatening our health and the environment. Ideally, manufacturers of consumer goods would help pay for the collection and responsible recycling of the products they produce, keeping them out of land fills but it is solely on the consumer to take the initiative and properly dispose of the goods. If those ideals are not met, we as consumers are missing a tremendous opportunity to make today’s waste, tomorrow’s products.

With a growing awareness of how important it is to recycle computers, there are now plentiful ways to recycle or donate a used computer. For example, computer refurbishing services offer an alternative and more environmentally sound solution. If a computer is less than five years old and is in workable condition, it may be a good idea to donate a used computer instead of sending it off to be recycled.
