As Americans look back on the 1920s, it is a time period that is filled with happiness and great sadness. At the beginning of the twenties era, Americans experienced life as a celebration. It was a time of non-stop dancing, and listening to the radio. This is the time before the television was invented and so people relied on the radio for music and entertainment. Other inventions came from the science field, penicillin and the discovery of insulin for diabetes were both new inventions that came from the twenties era. Dancing was the main source of entertainment. Many people referred to the hobby as dance crazes, which involved dances called: the Charleston, the Shimmy, the Foxtrot, the Sox hop, and many more.
