Roald Dahl had a fascination about children and childhood. He was a very open and amusing father who always made time to show his love for his children.
He shared a passion with children, to have fun and enjoy all the possibilities of life.
Children felt comfortable with him and he made sure that there was never a dull moment. Unlike ‘other’ fathers who were more ‘original’ and too worried about work and the children breaking things in the house, Dahl loved to entertain and keep the children occupied through his imagination and stories. In his book the BFG, it is full of excitement and suspense to attract the readers. Roald Dahl takes advantage in the fact the children like to read fresh stories which are different from average stories. His does thins his the BFG by coming up with interesting names and ways of describing things. Roald Dahl also makes the reader psychologically part of the story which keeps the reader wanting to read more.
