owners of inns consider it a full time job. It is also reasonable to assume that with a start up inn, the first few years will result in negative cash flows, as initial costs will outweigh any profits assuming the owners do not have large initial capital to work with.
Considering the high amount of time and resources needed to get an inn up and functioning, it is worth looking into the current owner’s positions to see how their lives can accommodate to such a task of running an inn. The Salmon River Inn has only two owners in Fred and Eileen. What this means for the company is that only two sources of initial investment were pooled together (not yet considering the grant program), severely restricting the amount of money put to use in starting the company.
