Shakespeare in Love is a romantic comedy film directed by John Madden. It film brought us back in time – particularly Shakespeare’s time, where there is a rich symbolism of love. It has the right mix of comedy, drama, and also tragedy. However, there are excessive steamy scenes and partial nudity between the lead couple – William Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes) and Viola de Lesseps (Gwyneth Paltrow) – which are not appropriate for minors and children to watch.

Richard Burbage (Martin Clunes), the owner of The Curtain Theatre offers his stage to Shakespeare. Shakespeare assumes the lead role of Romeo.

Viola secretly goes to the theatre after her wedding day. Meanwhile, the boy playing Juliet starts experiencing the voice change of puberty. Viola replaces him and continues the play with her as Juliet. Their portrayal of love amazes the entire audience, even the queen. Tilney arrives and plans to arrest the actors and the audience.
