Shane, from Jack Schaefer’s Book Shane, is no ordinary man and his gun was not either. It is hardly a gun it is a part of Shane, he handles it like another arm or leg. This essay will look at how Shane modified a quite average gun to be unique, how Shane handles a gun, and lastly how Shane handles his gun in that famous bar fight.
Shane has no standard gun. When Bob Starett is snooping around Shane's room he found it, Shane's gun. The gun was a single action colt, the same model as an army issue only it had been modified. Bob explains what made it not so average
