Smoking In Public Places

Smoking to be banned in public places is a much contentious topic these days with almost no conclusions coming at the end. While the smokers continue to smoke in public places, the non-smoker continue to show their disgust and revulsion. Although everyone has a right to live freely in this world, he or she is not permitted to cause harm to other people. So in my opinion, smoking in public places should be banned because of 3 reasons.

Firstly, smoking is harmful to non-smoker’s health. Smokers have the right to smoke, but it's unreasonable if that right is harmful to others. Obviously if there is a smoker in public places, automatically the surrounding people will be the secondhand ...

However, they should know that there are 4000 chemical agents in second-hand smoke. 250 substances are known to be toxic such as nicotine, tar, phenol. More than 50 cause cancer. Scientific evidence shows there is no safe level of exposure to secondhand smoke. 3000 non-smoking adults die of disease caused by second-hand smoke each year. If we continued smoking in public places, that number would increase rapidly in the future.

Another reason smoking should be banned in all public spaces is that it is unpleasant to non-smokers. The smoke from other people’s cigarettes pollutes the air and atmosphere around public spaces. For example, Smoking in restaurants can disturb other people. They can lose their appetite when they breathe in the smoke with unpleasant smell.
