We can hypothesize that "As the number of working mothers increase, then juvenile delinquency will increase." Statistically, this can be true but depending on how we measure, we will find that it may not be the fault of more working mothers. Instead, we will find that there were many things happening at the same time this change in workforce occurred. So we have correlated change.

In this class, we are doing beginning studies so the goal is to try to learn cause and effect and go with what we think we see as the strongest relationships to change.
