There are many issues facing America today; smoking, debt, unemployment, guns, alcohol consumption, obesity, etc. There are multiple reasons that contribute to America's obesity problem. Even though people should be free to make their own choices, soda should be more expensive or limited because soda is main cause for obesity and sugary drinks fuel other expensive diseases, other than obesity.

On the other hand, people should be able to make their own decisions about what they put in their bodies. Katherine Mangu-Ward notes that, "People should be free to make their own choices and their own mistakes. People engage in all kinds of `unhealthy' behaviors like eating jellybeans and `forgetting' to floss" (Mangu-Ward 1). This is showing that since people should be able to make their own choices, even if some of their behaviors cost taxpayers money, while others don't. Mangu-Ward states that, "Just because something is a terrible idea doesn't mean it is the business of the state to advise against, restrict, tax, or otherwise limit it" (Mangu-Ward 1). This is saying that even though soda is very unhealthy, and causes obesity, they shouldn't have to get rid of, tax, or limit it. There is a very simple solution to this problem, though.
