The movie "Sophie's Choice" directed by Alan J. Pakula in 1982 tells the story of a Polish woman, Sophie, who suffers from the trauma of what she has experienced in Auschwitz concentration camp. The movie describes the Nazi brings enormous suffering to innocent people. Although some people survive from the camp, they can't live a normal life due to the unbearable experience. Instead, they live as already dead.

When Stingo shows his willingness of spending the rest of his life and have child with Sophie, she tells Stingo that she is not fit to be a mother. Then, she tells us the most unbearable experience she has gone through before she went to the camp. On her way to the camp, a German officer approved her request of releasing her child. However, the officer forces her to pick one of them, and give up the other. Otherwise, both of them will be sent to gas. She made the most painful decision at the very moment. Her soul collapsed the moment she let go with her daughter. She sent her daughter to the gas chamber with her own hand, and her son also died in the labor camp.
