Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist follows Santiago, a young and adventurous shepherd from Andalusia, on his journey to find hidden treasure. Santiago is someone who loves travel and not being tied down to anyone place, thing, or person. He roams about the pastures of his land, and dreams about the days when he can romp about in distant ones. He dreams about his destiny and ends up searching for a treasure he believes lies in some distant land. As Santiago goes on his search for this treasure, he meets an Alchemist on the way that teaches him about personal destiny.
