Most people live their daily lives based on something they are afraid of. Parents work out of fear of loosing their jobs. Children go to school in fear of not graduating.
In The Crucible, the author, Arthur Miller, uses fear to control, manipulate and undermine the people of Salem, Massachusetts in the Spring of 1692.
Samuel Parris was a respectable reverend of the town.
