The Holocaust was a large genocide that occurred during the World War II. Six million Jews died
The torment of the Jews began in the late 19th century where the Völkisch movement began. Jews were announced as enemies of the people of Germany and considered to be a race. Books were published and speeches were announced about restricting Jews¡¯ freedom and how they were pests that must be removed. During the Great Depression, many of people have already thought about killing their own people that were mentally or physically unable to be cured just so that there will be more money going around.

The life (if you can still call it a life) of a Jew back then was worse than hell. Jews were often beaten and tortured for no apparent reason. If you wish to give up on your religion, you still have Jewish blood running through you and will be considered a Jew. Even those who don¡¯t believe in Judaism but have Jewish ancestors are considered Jewish and treated the same way the others were.
Concentration camps were created that were meant to be used as rooms to torture those who opposed the Nazis. After that, there were extermination camps. There only purpose was to kill anyone sent there. About 15,000 camps were created, many in areas with a large amount of Jews. The largest extermination camp created was Auschwitz II. In this single camp, 1,400,000 Jews¡¯ lives were taken.
