It's a gross understatement to say that William Golding's endlessly symbolic novel, The Lord of the Flies, changes one's perspective on the faults of civilization and government. By use of powerful allegorical connections between the island Golding had created and the remainder of the world surrounding it, he drastically altered the different outlooks of the faults in society perceived by his audience by focusing these said faults on society's real issues. evacuated the boys from their homeland had sent them off in the intent that the boys would be assured security. However, the evacuators hadn't been aware that their attempts to shelter the boys from "the beast" had gone awry. Yes, the boys were taken out of the immediate action (or away from the violence associated with the backdrop of the novel, WWII), but they were unintentionally (and unfortunately) sent to a brand new dangerous location; they were sent to a brand new beast. Here lies one of the numerous occasions in which adults are unable to provide protection for their children. The boys are soon exposed to a war -- on the island that they had crashed into -- awfully similar to the one they were designated to avoid. Ironically enough, the cause of their crash is also relative to the violence caused by the adults.
