Throughout the summer of 1921 some members of the Nazi Party grew jealous of Hitler’s rise to power. Some members took advantage of his absence in the area of Berlin Germany, and began to plan a way to lower his power. When Hitler heard of this news he made his way back to Munich and surprised his competition by leaving the Nazi party. Hitler decided that if he would leave the Party for too long it would lose much of its support, so he decided to rejoin the Party only on his terms. During a party congress on the day of July 29th Hitler had received somewhat dictorial powers in accordance of his leadership principle.
