The quote, “There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature – the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after the winter,” is splendid because there is beauty at every time of day, and every day of the year, no matter the season.
Rachel Carson also explains that “A child’s world is fresh and new and beautiful, full of wonder of excitement. It is our misfortune that for most of us that clear-eyed vision, that true instinct for what is beautiful and awe-inspiring, is dimmed and even lost before we reach adulthood.” I think the point she is trying to make is that as we grow older, we tend to forget the simplicity, yet natural happiness that nature can bring us.
