This I Believe Is Sports

I believe that the greatest moment in sports history is Jesse Owens victories in the Summer Olympics of 1936. Jesse Owens ran track for the USA in the Berlin Olympics. This was a time where Nazism was big in all of Eastern Europe and Germany was a powerhouse under the control of Adolf Hitler. Hitler saw these Olympic games in Berlin as a chance to showcase his country and prove that the Arian race was superior. Hitler did not like how America “stooped so low” to put an African Americans, or what he called “non humans”, on their Olympic team. Fueled by the racism and harsh words of Hitler, Owens was able to stick it to the Arian Race, Nazis, and most importantly, he stuck it to Hitler. ...
