Trip Across Canada
William’s Lake gold panning takes place at Caribou Chilicotin Jetboat Adventures/Wild River Adventures. Gold panning actually turned out to be quite fun. It’s really easy to do too. Once you get a suitable deposit, you scoop some of it into a pan, where you then place it into water. The materials in the deposit went through the pan due to their lower gravity, while the heavier ones, mainly the gold, remain in the pan so you can examine and collect it. We had bacon and eggs, because we felt like keeping it simple, because we had a wild day ahead of us! We were going zip lining today at the Grouse Mountain Zip Lining! The zip lines went at speeds as fast as 50 km an hour. We got to see the mountain at an insane view. It was definitely a heart pounding experience, with me being so afraid of heights. When we were done, I was glad I did it, but I don’t see myself doing it ever again. Because we were almost done in BC, we were going to have to start making our way to the Yukon, which consisted of a lot more driving. We drove for four and a half hours till we got to Prince George, where we stopped for lunch again at Subway, and got our usual sub and after we stopped for gas at the Birchwood Turbo Gas Bar. By now it was almost 4pm and our next destination was Whitehorse, a nice 21 hour drive. We drove till Dawson Creek, which was a long drive, but the closest town we found between the two.
