Violence In Algeria


For the past 7 years, Algeria has been going through brutal killings and massacres of poor innocent villagers. Algeria has been wracked by violence ever since the government canceled the country's legislative election in 1992. The Islamists' main party, the Islamic Salvation Front (FIS) finished the first round of election's voting and was expected to win by a wild majority in the final round. When military saw that the Islamists were going to win, they took control of the government and canceled the election. Ever since then, the government has put intensive efforts to stop this conflict. were poor innocent villagers with no sin at all. Days, weeks, years passed, but the brutal killings didn't stop.
These massacres caused a growing concern for everyone. Many people left the country to run away from death. The victims are usually the innocent villagers. Among those who get attacked, there are very few survivors. They complain about their protection. The survivors complain that the security forces, which are often stationed nearby, haven't intervened to stop the massacre and did not come to the scene place, till the next morning. The security forces blame all the killings on armed opposition groups, when the armed the armed groups blame the security forces. The fact that they didn't get protection is true. However, even if the government tried to help, they don't no where the next massacre is going to take place. The government can't give protection to the whole country, since it is so big.
