I have chosen to compare the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games website with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport website. Both of these websites present modern and organised webpages that are bright in colour and make boring information easy to read by using webpage layouts and language techniques.

In the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games website, the website is very functional and everything on the page has a purpose, which makes the website very relevant to what the audience would want to see on a website that represents the people of the UK. Uses of colour on the London 2012 homepage are mainly pink and blue. The use of colour allows men and women and boys and girls to relate to the website. There is a similar theme used throughout the whole website but with different uses of colour, this allows users to know that they are on the same page because if the website changed its colour style and layout viewers would be confused. For example, on the London 2012 Blog page, the header and logo are orange instead of pink.

The formality of the language is very informal, especially on the London 2012 Blog page.
