To begin with, this essay aims to discuss and compare different approaches towards management. Particular attention will be given to various definitions of management. Finally it represents two models of management in different competing value framework quadrants, as well as portrays their main features.

There is no disputing the fact that there is no generally accepted definition of management and every individual can interpret it on their own point of view but we should all agree that beneath word `management' lies an array of difficult and complicated tasks and activities that managers are forced to do.
