Christmas- is a Christian holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. No one knows the true date of his actual birth, but it is observed on Dec. 25. Christians and others celebrate this holiday by attending church, or partaking in religious ceremonies unique to year. Most popular: the Christmas tree, and/or adorning the house with Christmas lights. Circulation of Christmas cards, kissing under mistletoe, well wishing, and feasts are the most common forms of celebration of Christmas. Usually, during Christmas, families exchange gifts, an allusion of remembrance to the gift of life that was given to Christians by Jesus Christ.

Christmas originated in the Bible under a story of three wise men and a sacred child born in a manger. This child was born to a virgin named Mary and a man named Joseph. Basically, in a nutshell, an angel appeared to three wise men outside of Bethlehem. They follow a star to his birth in a modest farm. There they shower him with fine fragrances and gifts proclaiming him the Son of God. The story comes from the Gospels of Saint Luke and Saint Matthew, in the Bible.
Example of common songs sung during this time are: Jingle Bells, Santa Clause is Coming to town, Silent night, Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire, Frosty the Snowman, Silver Bells, and hundreds, hundreds more.
