(Albert Einstein) This quote means that as human beings we are supposed to question everything, its in our nature to question everything. To be human means to have dreams, emotions, and hope. Hope for a good future. To aspire to be the best that one could within a society that one lives. It also means that you can have a simple human connection to another person. They are in control of their own lives unlike the citizens. Winston also believes that the proles have retained some of their humanity that does not exist in the party members.

In 1984, the party wants to take away humanity so all thatâ€™s left is undevoted love for the party and big brother.
