A LITTLE FRUSTRATED FIREFLY

Little frustrated firefly
Spread your wings and don't cry
Just don't ask how
But you are free now

Little frustrated firefly
Stop sauntering in the daylight
Because in his eyes
You belong in the dark night

Use your burnished light
So you'll have a better sight
And choose which way is right

Alone in a lonely, lifeless night
In darkness you wander

although our physical appearance may seem one way - it is our internal makings - what is inside us, such as our spirit, that makes us shine from the inside out. That which is within us will always illuminate us and those around us. However, in this poem, I am trying to say it in a different way, the firefly in the poem is appeared to be a frustrated firefly, and it is sort of representing how I feel now. I am like a frustrated firefly flying in the sky freely but sadly. The firefly is lonely by itself and flying in the boring, lonely night. Something for sure has happened to it that makes it feels so lonely and down.

I used alliteration to repeat the consonant sound of 'F' in every first sentence in each stanza. For example, 'Little Frustrated Firefly' and 'lonely, lifeless night.' It helps the sentence to flow easily and it also draws the attention of the audience to the word 'Frustrated Firefly' which is the main point of the poem.
