The fuel of the industrial revolution was coal, it was used for energy production to power the numerous factories. Britain happened to be located upon a vast coal deposit, whereas other less fortunate countries had to import coal, creating more expenses that slowed their industrialization process. One of coal’s more vital uses was removing iron from its ore. This efficient iron production allowed for advances in technology that further accelerated the industrial revolution.
