The Industrial Revolution

The Industrial Revolution refers to the greatly increased out put of machines-made goods that began in England in the middle 1700s. Eventually Industrialization led to a better equality of life for most people. The change to machine production caused human suffering. Rapid industrialization brought plenty jobs, but it also caused unhealthy working conditions, air and water pollution, and the sickening of child labor. It also brought class tensions.
Before the Industrial Revolution, people wove the textiles by hand. Later, inventors sped up the process. In 1701, Jethro Tull invented the speed drill. It allowed farmers to sow seeds in well spaced rows. In 1764, James Hargreaves invented a ...

In 1842, the mines act prevented women and children from working underground. The lower middle class included factory overseers and such skill workers. These people enjoyed a comfortable standard of living.Perhaps most importantly, it provided the hope of improvement in peoples lives.
Furthermore, reacting with multiple problems, the factory system changed the way people lived and worked. Child labor was horrid, because they were the cheapest source of labor. Children and women worked fourteen hours a day, six days a week. Since the children would doze off from the hard work, overseers would whip them to keep them awake. Since England’s population grew, housing, education, and police protection lacked for the people. Family workers crowded into one bedroom. Sickness was widespread.
