Individuals may choose behaviour that brings him into conflict with others. This choice can be influenced by other individuals, famous icons and symbols. In this case Author Robert Cormier expresses many aspects of conflict in the Protagonists life Jerry Renault. In the chocolate war the Vigils a devious school gang attempts to gain an advantage and is resisted by Jerry.
