Colonialism

How did colonialism change the everyday lives of Africa's indigenous populations?

The lives of indigenous people were completely turned around with the rise of imperialism. Although England did offer people an education, introduced technology, and brought medicines to Africa, many people would say that the negative effects that colonialism had on the indigenous people outweighed the positive ones by far. Not only were their customs and beliefs changed, but more often than not they were taken advantage of and practically forced to work for. This was particularly unjust because any court cases involving the white settlers against the natives seemed to always be decided in favor of the colonists. In "Gentlemen of the Jungle" an example of this is when the court is said to be "impartial" but in reality they end up evicting the man out of his home unjustly and claiming it's the fair thing to do. The people of Africa had little to no say in what would be the future of their culture and country.
