The Spanish conquest of the western hemisphere caused havoc among the natives in the late 15th and early 16th century. The behavior of the Spaniards toward the natives was very cruel and unnecessary. Also the king and queen, Ferdinand and Isabella, were now starting to focus on their plans on gaining wealth. One of those plans was the send the Spaniards to other places to find gold. Statements that could be said about the Spanish conquest in the western hemisphere is that the Spaniards were very cruel, greedy for wealth, and hypocritical.

very greedy. Their greed was for gold and they were led by Christopher Columbus to try to find gold. He not only sailed in the search for gold for himself, but to give to the King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. Columbus and the Spaniards were so greedy that the killed a lot of the natives, almost all of them, just to get the gold. They made the natives like slaves and made them search for gold. Making natives search in places that had no gold, and if they didn’t bring gold back the Spaniards killed the natives. So the natives didn’t even really have a chance. That is just how greedy the Spaniards were.
Lastly, the Spaniards were hypocritical towards the natives. They say they were Christian, but they did not act it. This is because obviously in the bible it says it is not right to murder. Yet the Spaniards murdered like it was nothing, some did it just for fun. They were also hypocrites because they would convert some of the natives to Christianity, and would still kill them for ...
