Divorce rates over the last century have steadily increased at an alarming pace. There is a simple explanation for this. As the world evolves, the people in it adapt and change as well. Present-day citizens' point-of-views and morals have clearly changed since the idealistic view of a household in the early-1900's which would typically include a married couple with faithful husband, faithful wife, and maybe a child and/or dog to accompany the spouses.
