Grasshopper Dissection

The was a very good experience for me. Not only did I learn the required criteria but I also learned to follow the Instructions. I almost ruined the specimen when I started to make an Incision in the side of the thorax instead of the bottom. I learned the hard way I almost ruined my specimen. I found this to be another interesting dissection. I had fun and learned at the same time. That’s what makes biology fun.
The tools that we used to do the dissection were 1) a pair of Scissors, we used them to cut the specimen open and to expose the insides. 2) we used a dissecting tray to lay the specimen in while we were dissecting 3) we used a whole bunch of little pins to hold ...

at all. I never knew that a grasshopper had so many complex parts to it. The jaw alone amazed me. I must say that the temperature in the room made those little things stink like a son of a gun. But all in all it was fun and I can honestly say that I actually learned something this year.
In conclusion I would just like to state that this project has been a blast, I don’t even mind writing these little papers because it is fun. I'm not just saying this to suck up but I do enjoy Biology not just because I love nature but because you made it fun Mr. Thompson.
