Humans Hold The Idea Of Heroes With Great Significance



Thinking in mythological terms by seeing the value in the lives of those that came before us enables people to erase anxiety and face the uncertainty of life. Charles Horton Cooley, a sociologist in the late 1800's, beautifully stated, "To have no heroes is to have no aspiration…." This encompasses the reality of human nature and still holds true today. . The heroes of the past, whether it is a physical hero, a woman hero, or a spiritual hero shape who we are today.

life. A third mythological hero that supports the characteristic of strength is in the story of Theseus of Greek origin. This story also suggests bravery as a primary role in a hero. At only seven years old, Theseus grabbed an axe to slay a lion, which actually was a skin that Hercules had laid on a stool. At the age of sixteen he was able to lift the rock and remove the sword and sandals from underneath, left by Aegeus. These heroes have many characteristics that follow in the lines of strength, such as courage, determination, and resourcefulness. These examples of physical strengths give us a platform and help us believe that we can defeat our foes and conquer the fears of modern times. It is the model of the physical hero that unites the strength of the human soul.
