now, COPD is the fourth leading cause of death in the United States. Needless to say, patients with COPD are limited because of the higher instance of dyspnea associated with exertion. As the research shows, patients diagnosed with COPD are also more prone to depression since the disease tends to change the immediate and potential quality of life of the patient. The study shows that after 3, 6, 12, and 18 months after surgery and pulmonary rehab, there is a significant improvement of Health-related quality of life in all of the test subjects, with a higher improvement in patients less than 65 years of age, and especially in females. Two main factors taken into account are the physical and mental health.
