The nature of evil is shown in the plays Macbeth and King Lear. Lady Macbeth from Macbeth and Edmund from King Lear are two of the characters that show evil in the plays.
Lady Macbeth's evil is shown through her actions. She is always telling Macbeth what to do so she can become the Queen. Edmund is trying to start trouble when he writes a letter and signs it with his brother's name. With these evil characters, it makes the plots more interesting. Without evil, the plays would not be as affecting or meaningful.

Her talk and persuasion put the ideas in Macbeth's head and made him think it was the right thing to do. She urged him into doing it which makes her part of this crime, but she is not as guilty as Macbeth. The talk of murder and the planning Lady Macbeth did for her husband makes her evil.
The idea of killing Duncan first came from Macbeth. Macbeth listened to the witches' prophecies that said he would become King. Macbeth did not want to wait any longer and he thought the only way to become King was to kill the present one, King Duncan. Macbeth later told his wife about this, and she just wanted to help him and do whatever she could for him so that he would be happy and be King.
