Japan was almost completely destroyed by World War II, Japan had immensely developed its industries and the educational standard by this time. These two factors massively contributed to the Japanese economic miracle in 1970s.

As a result of the Japanese industrialization, Japan has managed to transform itself into one of the most technologically developed nations in the world. The Japanese economy nowadays strongly depends on the export of electric and electronic products and automated machines such as motor vehicles and industrial robotic machines.

The pre-World War II ups and downs that presented obstacles to Japanese industrialization were largely stimulated by events in the global economy and the country's efforts to keep up with the rest of the world. For example, the economic boom fueled the huge growth in population, and the decline in the economy and agriculture was a direct result of the effects of the Great Depression on Japan.
