The author I chose to write about was Liu Cunhui. His artwork caught my attention for many reasons. I like the way he painted landscapes and made them look so serene and realistic. The detail that really caught my attention was that even though his paintings are so detailed they are also simplistic at the same time. Liu became interested in drawing landscapes at a young age just like how I enjoy looking and drawing landscapes. Because of this I felt a personal connection to Cunhui and I looked forward to learning about him and his artwork.

Liu Cunhui's artwork consists of brush painting. His paintings are a mixture of modern and traditional art. Liu Cunhui is mostly known for his freestyle though. His artwork usually consists of landscapes and nature. His work also incorporates vivid colors like the picture I attached to the back, however he can also paint simplistic art.
I like all of Liu Cunhui's artwork but I especially like the bird painting. I like how it is so detailed and how he used such simple strokes to achieve this. I also liked how the nature he painted looks so serene and pure. His strokes are smooth and the color he adds makes the painting come to life and more interesting to view.
