Mary Barnett Case

Mary Barnett left Chicago on January 23 to travel to San Francisco, California. She went to California to visit her fiancé. Alison, Mary's six month old daughter was left unattended for seven days, in which Mary came to know that her six month old daughter died of dehydration. Mary has stated that she knew that she was leaving her daughter behind but did not think that she would return as she knew that Alison will die in a day or two. Mary has been charged with second degree murder, which is intentional murder without any premeditation.
